US Actor Running for President

Fred Thompson , a famous actor, is running for president in the Republicans. Thompson is well known to many voters through his role as district attorney Arthur Branch in TV crime series Law & Order. He is a former two-term senator for Tennessee who left politics in 2002 to return to acting. Even though he entered late to run, polls suggest he can compete with the front-runners.

I think it is interesting that an actor is running to be the president. It would be even more interesting if he wins. Even though it seems like he doesn't really fit into a role of a president he seems like he has a pretty good chance of winning.

Many people claim that to be a good president, one must have a knack for dramatization. I feel that the U.S. needs a president that can convey to the public the dire situation that the country is in (with the war and global warming) and convince people to take action. Though Fred Thompson is not one of my favorite candidates, I think that he may actually be a very strong president if he is elected.

I think it is pretty random how this Thompson character is out there running for president. I think that it is just a waste of time and money for him because he has no chance of winning the election. He has no political experience what so ever.

It's interesting to see his positing in acting and politics. It's interesting that he entered late and still is viewed to have possibility of being elected.

I also hear that a former rocker is running for president but I do not think that they can do better job than people who have studied or worked for years when a rocker or an actor were doing other job.

I think it is hard fro an actor to become a president but if he wants to try it is his choice.

I think his decision for running is quite random. First, he dies not seem well prepared -- announcing this news late. Second, he just gave up his Law & Order position for this... shouldn't he have thought about it more? Well, I hope his fan base does not vote for him because of his star fame but because of his policies.

Everyone must remember that this is not his first appearence in politics for he was a two-term senator for Tennessee. And last time I checked, that makes him much more qualified than anyone in this blog. Yes he acts, but it's not like any other congress members, or former presidents did not have a job before they entered the world of politics.
