Republicans May Have to Pay the Price for the Immigration Bill

The Senate Republicans defeated the immigration reform. Registered Hispanic voters which numbers over 9 million, are poised to make a show of force in the 2008 presidential election. The defeat of immigration reform at the hands of the GOP sends a message to the growing Latino population that they are not welcome in the Republican Party. But with dissatisfaction over the fall of the immigration bill, the republicans might not be able to get many Latinos votes as they wish.

I think this will make a great impact on the 2008 elections. Since the population of Hispanics are already huge and still growing, the votes of the people will probably decline a lot.

I think this was a huge mistake by the Republicans. With the election coming up very soon, to reject an immigration bill that supports Hispanics is a dangerous risk that the Republicans are taking. Hispanic population is very huge in the American and is still growing, so this decision by the Senate Republicans will cost them a lot of votes.

It is true that Hispanic is very dangerous because there are lots of Hispanic living in the US so i agree that the Republicans made a mistake.

Wow! I did not know that the Hispanic population totals over 9 million. Anyways, I think strategically, the Republican's rejection of the immigration reform will be hurtful during the election. The immigrants would plausibly turn to the Democratic side. The defeat of the immigration reform had only one positive outcome: it was an asset to the Democrat's campaign.

The Hispanics need to go out and vote and so does every other person in America of age and eligable. The Hispanics and probably a great deal of other Americans will be voting against the Republicans in this next election and its fine with me.

This puts the Republican Party in a disadvantage as Latinos are encouraged to now vote against them. With the great number of Latino immigrants, the Republican Party will lose much of their votes during the Presidential Election of 2008.

Maybe a single vote might not ultimately make a difference, but I am sure that 9 million votes will. The Republican party better do something fast to appeal to this population before the 2008 election or else the Democrats will have a notable advantage.

I think that the republican did wrong because they cannot do it if they have thought that there would be a lot of hispanic voters who are against them.

this is really dumb specially in america because there are probably more hispanics in the united states than there are probably any other race or nationality.. they're definitely going to lose alot of votes on this one
